We wake in Tunstall Forest after enjoying a couple of nights away in Suffolk in our lovely little VW campervan, after a couple of hectic days out on the bikes it was time for a relaxing morning. Mag goes for an early morning walk while I do my exercises in the sun, then breakfast and read. Then around midday we pack-up and head to Snape Maltings to pick some stuff for Arlo and Rob before heading home. There is a sailable breeze, the last for a week so I was keen to get out, my original plan was to go foiling at Levington but changed my mind enroute and ended up at The Dip, Felixstowe where Swainy was already parked but there was no sign of him? With 20 knots SSW and if I had my 7m back from the repair shop I would have rigged that but went for my 7.8 and 133lt. and was glad I did as was if anything under powdered the whole session. I suppose I was glad I was under because the sea was absolutely awful just confused chop for as far as the eye could see, the only good thing being was it was a nice sunny afternoon! Remind never to sail Felixstowe again near high water, the sea state here resembles Felixstowe’s road bumpy and just no fun to sail which is why I go anywhere else if at all possible! After an hour or so being battered and with the wind easing, I head ashore before the tide turns, there is nothing worst there than wind with tide! I have a nice chat with Swainy who has returned after a trip down the coast before heading for home.
